Ecliptic Of A Utopia

On the frayed thread of the waning night 
you advance, phlegmatic, with astonished eyes, 
subtle as an amber breath, 
while you caress the air 
that bends to your step 
like silk recognizing 
its own warmth. 
Between your lashes the world trembles, 
and my torment, a docile wound, 
opens like a nocturnal rose 
at the call of your slanting light. 
Your gentle words 
brush the skin shaped 
by the intense melody of your nature, 
more than the breath of ancient winds, 
and in that suspended instant 
even time holds its breath. 
But when the heart, daring, 
attempts its flight, I discover that your smile 
was no promise of love, 
but a refined art of escape, 
a glare to be captured. 
Silence is a veil of sadness 
that chills my hand, protesting for you, 
in which I enclosed, 
in a breathless fist, 
the heart that, ecliptic and estranged, 
marks the eclipse of a utopia.
